On June 15, 1922, the Four Freedoms Awards of that year took place in the Nieuwe Kerk in Middelburg. The International Four Freedoms Award was presented to Javier Pérez de Cuéllar by Roosevelt's granddaughter and (former) minister Van den Broek. The Freedom of Speech Award went to Mstislav Rostropovich and the Freedom of Worship went to Terry Waite. Jan Tinbergen was presented with the Freedom from Want Award by Princess Juliana and William vanden Heuvel. The Freedom from Fear went to Lord Carrington.
