BAM - 'Knowledge Cabinet Shared Past'
In October, ZB Library of Zeeland (ZB) presents the so called 'Knowledge Cabinet Shared Past' in the Zeeland Pavilion on the first floor of the library in Middelburg.
The 'Knowledge Cabinet Shared Past' offers an extensive selection of books that shows the slavery and colonial past from various perspectives. Special attention is paid to colored authors. Fiction, non-fiction and children's literature.
With this 'Knowledge Cabinet', the ZB wants to contribute to increasing the knowledge and awareness about the transatlantic slavery past and its impact on our current society. Not to raise a question of guilt, but to investigate history together, exchange experiences, meet each other and create new stories for a shared and equal future. The 'Knowledge Cabinet Shared Past' was developed in collaboration with Black Archives Amsterdam and the Keti Koti Zeeland Foundation.
