Commemoration of the slavery past
The commemoration and celebration on July 1 will take place in the Koorkerk, on the Abdijplein and at the Slavery Monument on the Balans in Middelburg.
The flag ceremony starts at 10.30 am in the presence of, among others, the representative for Culture of the Province of Zeeland and the mayors of the municipalities of Middelburg, Vlissingen and Veere. Guests are requested to go to the Abbey Square via the Cloisters and take a seat in the Choir Church after the ceremony. Anyone who does not want/cannot attend this flag ceremony is asked to take a seat in the Choir Church.
