Vrijheidscollege Joenoes Polnaija
On May 5, actor Joenoes Polnaija will share his personal story and freedomideals in the Zeeland Freedom Colleges 2023.
Joenoes Polnaija is a Dutch actor and musician. He is best known for the films in which he has played, such as the film De Oost, which was released in 2020. Polnaija is third generation Moluccan and grew up among all kinds of cultures in the Moluccan neighborhood in Tiel. The ideal of freedom of the Moluccans is often central to his work, such as in the documentary about his background. This documentary Grandchildren of the East can be seen on Friday 24 March during the Movies that Matter festival of Film by the Sea in CineCity in Vlissingen.
His Freedom College focuses on the history of the Moluccans and the trauma passed on intergenerationally.
